Clare (クレア Kurea?), the series' protagonist, is a distant and quiet Claymore, with an occasional impulsive side. After one of her assignments, she picks up an annoying boy named Raki, who was exiled from his village. Despite his incredible stupidity, Raki gradually manages to break through her shell and becomes her friend. At number 47, Clare is ranked as the lowest and weakest of all Claymores.
